Error when pushing solution into Vault

I'm using 3.1.2 Client and Server, and having trouble pushing a big solution (~5000 files) into Vault. It gets about halfway through, then the Source Control output window shows "SCCAdd Method: Object not set to an instance of an object." and VS freezes and has to be killed. Has happened 3 times in a row now all at the exact same place.

Any suggestions how to troubleshoot?

Is this a new solution you're trying to add through Visual Studio? What version of Visual Studio are you using?

At what exact place is it freezing?

Is there anything in the Vault server log file that corresponds with the client hang?
