I just completed importing my VSS data into Vault. Now I would like to branch from a label. In my example I have $/Project/Main. It looks like the way you do that is right click on the folder and click "Show Labels..." You then should be able to right click on the label and click Branch $/Project/Main. However the label that I want to branch from is not enabled in the pop up menu. Why is this?

If the label has been promoted (or changed in any way), it cannot be branched. A branch has to happen on a folder that has a specific version, and when a label is promoted or changed, it no longer corresponds to a folder version that exists in history.

Yes, I did read that in the help. However, I did not promote the label. The label was imported from VSS. So maybe imported labels can not be branched? Or maybe what you are saying is somehow the label was changed when it was in VSS.

I just learned that an import promotes all labels that are imported from VSS, so no label that is imported can be branched. However, future labels you create can be branched, as long as you don't modify them.
