Shadow folders not working

Hi,

I have set up shadow folders in the vault admin tool but I got the following error in my VaultShadowFolderService.txt

3/10/2005 6:34:31 PM <generic>: [<No Name>:6028] Vault's Shadow Folders encountered an exception attempting to login to the Vault Server for Repository ID 4. Access is denied.

3/10/2005 6:34:31 PM <generic>: [<No Name>:6028] Vault's Shadow Folders tried / failed to log in to the Vault Server for 11attempts, and is giving up. It is possible, Shadow Folder directories may not be synchronized with the Vault Server.
3/10/2005 6:35:06 PM <generic>: [<No Name>:1520] SimpleLogger finalized

So, I edited the web.config to impersonate the same user as the vault webapp. I then got:

3/10/2005 6:35:54 PM <generic>: [<No Name>:3160] GetEntryAssembly() returned null; not logging assembly name
3/10/2005 6:36:11 PM <generic>: [<No Name>:3160] GetEntryAssembly() returned null; not logging assembly name
3/10/2005 6:36:11 PM <generic>: [<No Name>:5592] Shadow Folder could not initialize the Client Instance for Repository ID 2. Access to the path "C:\Program Files\Sourcegear\Vault Shadow Folder Cache" is denied.
3/10/2005 6:36:11 PM <generic>: [<No Name>:5592] Vault Shadow Folder encountered a problem: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

So I created "C:\Program Files\Sourcegear\Vault Shadow Folder Cache" directory and gave my vault user full permissions to it. I touched the web.config again and now nothing - nothing is appearing in my shadow folders and the VaultShadowFolderService.txt file is not reappearing again.....

Help!

I have now restored web.config back to what it was before my experimenting and still no VaultShadowFolderService.txt is being written (even after an iisreset) and no shadowing taking place.

What operating system is the Vault Server installed on?

Is your shadow folder on the same machine or on a different machine?

windows server 2003
same machine

In the physical VaultShadowFolder directory, there is a web.config file. Can you send the file (unaltered)? Just use the email button below this post to contact me.
