how to analyze / fix vault database

yes? i'm pretty sure i didn't delete it (i although i have been wandering around in a big of a daze lately). my guess is that it gets created by VSS automatically the first time a client does a "get", and because i didn't do any "get" operations with that fresh VSS server installation (just some history checks and an 'analyze'), it was absent when the import tool started.
