Users email addresses

Post by ismangil » Wed Sep 28, 2005 3:16 am

Is there a way through Admin Tool to set user's email? If not, is it OK if add it to the database table directly. The reason is I want to integrate retrieval of Vault users and their email addresses into a custom tool to generate CC.NET config files.

The GUI Client is the only place to configure the user's email address for email notifications. We generally don't recommend making direct modifications to the database. I'll log a feature request for email addresses to be added to user info when creating a users.

So this means that only the users themselves can add email addresses? And not the admin?

Users can get email notifications when they monitor changes to files/folders, using the Email tab in the GUI Client. They can configure their address in the Email Address field.

There's no corresponding way for the Admin to do this in the Admin Tool.

Most of our developers won't use this feature. Can you please add our vote to the request to have ability to set user email using Admin Tool?
