Check-out very very slow some times

Post by Dino » Tue Sep 20, 2005 8:14 pm

Since I upgraded to the latest version, I've noticed some serious performance issues. The file I am trying to check out now has been going for about 4 minutes and is still trying to check out. The Vault server is on a 100mbit lan to this machine, and the server is a P4 2.8 with 1GB RAM.

The SQL Server process is using about 30% CPU (varies between 0 and 50% constantly).

This one finally failed after 5 minutes with this message:

SCCCheckout Method: 1104 : FailDBReader

First time I have seen that though - previously it would just take well over a minute to check our a small 1 or 2 k file.

After this "failure" it took a further 20 seconds to try a second checkout, only to tell me that I already have it checked out.

FailDBReader means Vault is having a problem connecting to the database.

Email a copy of your Vault Server log -- sgvault.log in your %windows%\temp\sgvault directory on the server machine -- to linda at Sourcegear.com
