move to another db server - by repository

Post by rjdieper » Thu Sep 15, 2005 10:37 am

I successfully moved a repostory to another machine using
http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... light=move
but my problem is that the other machine is in a different domain and the developers will not be all ready at the same time to move each repository all at once.

So I have moved repository A from server 1 to server 2. In a month I need to move repository B to server 2 and then a month later I need to move repository C to server 2. Is this possible? If so how do I do it? I cant do a sql database backup/restore because when I want to move repository B, I can't overwrite repository A because it will have new updated information. Am I clear?

If I understand correctly, you restored a copy of a Vault database to a different SQL Server machine, but some developers continue to work on the original database.

In the current version of Vault, it's not possible to separate and move repositories from one Vault database to another.

We are working on an export/import function for Vault for version 4.0, but we don't have a release date as yet.

In the meantime, you might want to address any domain issues so all your developers can work in the same Vault database.
