We are using version 3.5.3 If a File is shared between different projects we are not able to see the shared icon.
In the help it is mentioned that
The symbol next to a file in the File List indicates that a file is shared. Executing operations with Share icons disabled will exhibit faster performance. Share icons can be disabled in SourceSafe Version 6.0 via Tools > Options > View.
Please note: There is one caveat regarding the Share operation in SourceOffSite. A graphical representation of Share will not be displayed if SourceOffSite is being used with SourceSafe Version 5.0.
I am pretty sure we are using VSS 6.0. But still we are not able to see the shared file symbol even after enabling the Display ShredIcon for the Shared files checkbox in SourceSafe Version 6.0 via Tools > Options > View.
Could you please give me some solution?
Thanks in Advance

Problem in SOS 3.5.3 : Not showing file status - Shared icon

What version of VSS and the VSS Automation Component are you using?
See this link on how to determine that:

Did shares ever show up properly?
Can you see share icons on any projects?
Do you run Analyze regularly on your VSS database? I'd suggest running Analyze if you haven't recently:
