Vault freezes when I return from around 20mins idle time (ie I haven't done anything with Vault). Here's how it happens:
1. After an idle period, I come back to check in/out a file
2. Vault displays the right-click menu as usual
3. It appears to start checking in or out, and then does nothing for a long time
4. The only way I can close Vault is to kill the process
Otherwise my system and vault act normally.
What might be the problem? -John
Vault freezes on return from idle

What version of Vault are you using?
What operating system is the Vault server installed on?
After you close and reopen the client, can you connect again?
Check the Vault server log file to see if the server has restarted during the time your client was idle.

Vault Client 3.06
OS Windows Server 2003
If I close and reopen, I can connect with no problems.
I do not believe that the server has restarted
By the way, I can repro this easily. It happens predictably.

Check this KB article about IIS recycling. This can cause server timeouts.

Also, enable client-side logging (log all classes) so we can see if there's anything helpful in the client log.

Agreed
Agreed: next step, turn the clientGUI log on.
