vault 3.1 server installation hangs

We are considering buying Vault to replace VSS, so i am testing it.

I first tried it on my win xp PC and it worked fine. Now i am trying it on a win 2000 server, but the vault 3.1 server installation process always hangs after the Vault Server Configuration dialog closes. It says "Time remaining: 0 seconds" but nothing happens.

My system specs are:
P4 2.6ghz
1GB RAM
Windos 2000 SP4
NET Framework 1.1
SQL Server 2000

Are you installing from the C:\ drive, with full admin privileges on the machine?

We can take a look at the vault_install.log file from your user's temp directory. It may have some clues. Email it to Linda at SourceGear.com

yes I'm using the adminitrator account to do the install.

I have sent you the vault_install.log

The log seems to indicate the server has been installed.

Your Vault Server has been successfully configured.

Please press OK to continue installing the Client and Admin Tools (if selected).ExitCode on exit: 0

Did you choose to install the Vault Client and Admin Tool?

Is there a Vault Service virtual directory in IIS? Is VaultService in Inetpub\wwwroot?

Can you connect to http://<vaultserver>/VaultService/serverinstall.html and http://<vaultserver>/VaultService/VaultService.asmx

yes, it seems after all the server is being installed correctly.

I always have to stop the installer using the task manager, but at least it does its work.

Note: It only happens when installing the server, if I select admin alone it works correctly, but if I select server, or server and admin, it hangs.

Thanks for your help, I'll start testing the product now.
