VS2003: Error message after canceling Browse operation

Post by vrapp » Mon Aug 01, 2005 11:53 am

The following may be a bug in Visual Studio error, or in Vault.

in VS2003, I open a solution; then go to menu "change source control", click "browse" and then "cancel".

The following error message shows up in source control window:

SCCProjPath Method: Exception of type System.Exception was thrown.

What version of Vault are you using?

Is the project properly bound, or are there problems with the bindings, as you reported earlier?

I wasn't able to reproduce this Vault 3.0.7 or 3.1 with a project that had proper bindings.

I am having problems reduplicating the problem here.

What operating system are you using? Does this happen with all of your projects? Can another Vault user reproduce the same error message?

xp sp2

> Does this happen with all of your projects?
yes.

> can another Vault user reproduce the same error message?

I'm the only user.

once again: in vs.net 2003 open a solution already linked to vault; go to menu file/source control/change source control; in the dialog that opens up, click "browse"; in the dialog that opens up, click cancel. At this point, the message appears in IDE as in the picture.

Well I was finally able to reproduce the problem here. I was looking for an actual error message dialog instead of noticing the message inside the Source Control dialog within VS.Net.

I will get this logged in our bug database.

Thank you.
