Active Directory Authentication: why login is still needed?

Post by Tri » Fri Jul 29, 2005 8:55 am

Hi,

(Client + Server 3.07)
Why does a user still need to enter login name and password when Active Directory authentication is used?

It would be convenient to pull the login info from the current logged in Windows user. Kind like SQL Query Analyzer. With Windows authentication, the login/pwd input boxes are not necessary.

The same should apply for Command line client too. When AD auth is used, then there is no need to specify any login/pwd.
