Vault 3.1 Install Erorr w/SQL Server 2005

Post by swelker » Fri Jul 22, 2005 2:08 pm

To evaluate Vault 3.1, we're installing the server on stand-alone Windows 2003 machine. We're using a SQL Server 2005 db and getting this error during installation:

Creating SourceGear Vault stored procedures...The NOLOCK and READUNCOMMITTED lock hints are not allowed for target tables of INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE statements.
Vault Setup is exiting due to a failure or cancellation. Error Code = 402

I'll consult our DBA but, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Are you currently upgrading a previous Vault installation or is this a new installation?

Also, what drop of SQL 2005 are you using?

Wow. Thanks Jeff for the prompt response. We are not upgrading. Its a completely new installation. The SQL Server is 2005, v 9.00.1187.07.

Because SQL Server 2005 is not critical for our evaluation, we've successfully installed Vault 3.1 using SQL Server 2000 instead. However, I remain interested in any information you may have on our failed SQL Server 2005 attempt. We may or may not come back to this. Thanks again!

Thanks for the update. There are different SQL Server 2005 versions available -- we'll check on which versions we've tested and post back.

The SQL Server 2005 Beta information from our test machines:

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.1116 (Intel X86)
Apr 9 2005 20:56:37
Copyright (c) 1988-2004 Microsoft Corporation

I believe this is the April CTP drop of SQL Server 2005.

It can sometimes be difficult hitting moving target. We'll test a later CTP, and sneak in a server patch for Vault 3.1.1.
