We have installed sos server 410 and are using sos client 410.
At random interevals we are getting the message server connection closed. I am not sure why this is happening but I looked at the server log and noticed a number of error messages.I do not want to post the log here as it contains IP addresses that I do not want to share on a forum.
I can send you the log if you want though.
Here is an excerpt:
20/07/2005 10:46:41 - Connection accepted from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:40941 on local address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2074, session id is 207.
20/07/2005 10:46:45 - 207: Unable to get hostname from address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
20/07/2005 10:46:50 - 207: Exception: Index was outside the bounds of the array.
20/07/2005 10:47:21 - Connection accepted from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2698 on local address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2074, session id is 209.

URGENT Server Connection Closed

The first error means the server was unable to resolve the host name from the IP address. This error is benign, and causes no problems.
The second error "Index was outside of the array" doesn't mean anything by itself, but is often seen when there are other errors.
Do you see any other error on the client side besides "Server closed connection?" When the connection is closed, can you log in again or do you have to restart the SOS Server.
You can email your full log to Linda at SourceGear.com and we'll see if there's any helpful information. Be sure to provide a link to this post in your email.

I am seeing this a lot with a VSS DB that also contains other VSS DBs. If I connect to a VSS DB that does not have any other VSS DBs, no error.
Yet everytime I try to connect, we'll call it VSS1, to VSS1 I get the error. VSS1 contains 25 or so other VSS databases.
Jim, does this VSS DB contain other VSS databases?
