Show History by Version not working
Hi,
Help! I can't get Show History by Version to Work. Show History by Item works OK, but when I select Show History by Version, I get the history window, reporting that there are x rows, but no data appears in the rows. Even when I scroll up and down and then wait awhile, nothing happens.
I'm using Vault 3.0.6.
Speedy response would be appreciated, since the boss wants a report on all changes to the software in the last six months - by the end of the day!
Thanks,
Sam

That's strange. Are you using the 3.0.6 Vault client and server?
Does History by version not work on ANY folder?
Can you view History by version from another client machine?
Is there anything reported in the sgvault.log file that corresponds to the the unsuccessful history operation?

When I do Show History by Item I get the following in VaultGUIClient.txt:

I don't know whether this has anything to do with the problem but:
whilst I had Vault GUI Client open earlier this morning, somebody else restarted the machine on which Vault server lives. Vault did report something about the session having expired (or something like that).
Could that have anything to do with it? Is there some state that might have become corrupted?

Perhaps. One test would be for you to login with your username on another machine. If History works properly for you on another machine, there may be some problem with cache files or other local settings on your own machine.
Another question: Is folder security enabled for the repository you're using? Are your user rights different than the user who was able to successfuly complete the history operation?

This gets more curious:
while I was preparing the screenshot I tried adjusting the size of the Window. I Hit the Maximize button, and the Window minimized itself (!). Then, when I maximized the window again, part of the history was shown.
However, scrolling down the window still doesn't show the rest of the history.

Just discovered something else interesting:
If I move the scroll bar to the section of history that I want to view, and then Minimize and Maximize the History Window, that section magically appears.
I can actually retrieve the entire history in this way.
This discovery makes the case less urgent.
