Issue with Vault Client

Post by Goo » Mon Jul 04, 2005 12:59 am

Hi there,

I installed Vault Server Version 2.0.6.2219 on A windows 2003 server machine, got a client on Windows XP and VS.NET 2K2

I downgraded from Vault v3 because of a reported issue with VS.NET 2k2 and Vault 3

Now, with Vault v2 all the options in Source Control menu are now greyed out in VS.NET.

Any ideas?

I found a thread saying in options set Default Source control provider but the Vault admin tool doesn't have an options tab

The setting that you are looking for is in the Vault GUI Client (you posted a screen shot of the Vault Admin tool). Once you log in to the Vault GUI client, choose Tools->Options and select that Vault should be the default source code controller.

I should expand on that

I'm trying to connect from Windows XP, using VS.NET 2002 to my vault server which is running Windows 2003 server. On the Windows XP comp i've got .NET Framework v1.0.3705, .NET Framework 1.1 and the hotfix, and the windows 2003 server doesn't apepar to have any of the framework installed.

I can connect from admin tool but any of the source control menus come up with that error and i have to kill the devenv process for it to go away.

Vault 2.x does support VS.NET 2002, but only with a special patch.

See this KB article for more info and a link to download the patch:
