Feature Request: Popup on Error

Post by kasti » Wed Jun 22, 2005 12:33 am

Hi,

Currently when an error occurs vault just writes an error into the Messages Panel. When an error occurs, it would be great if a popup lets the users know that something went wrong and to look in the message pane (after ending the transaction).

We had cases when a get latest failed for some files (e.g.: HD full) but the user did not see this. This caused us a lot of headaches during debugging the application he built.

Thanks,
Herbert.

P.S.: using 3.0.7

There is a warning dialog, but it can be suppressed. Check the user's options to see if they've turned off the warning dialog.

Hi Jeremy,

I see a few, but not all are there, e.g.: if "Get latest version" fails. There might be others as well....

Thanks,
Herbert.

You're right, there is no option to suppress the warning dialog when get latest fails. It always comes up. To test this, I set a working folder, then did a get. Once the file was on disc, I change the security settings so that I would not have any access to write to the file in the working folder. I did a get latest, with overwrite selected, and the messages pane showed the error and the warning dialog popped up.
