I just installed v4.1 w/ encryption for the first time.
I created one user and created a user key for him
On the client, I tried to connect on port 8080 (unencrypted), both before and after importing the user key, no difference
and get the following immediate error before a password prompt:
server closed connection
Server log shows:
6/22/2005 6:24:39 PM - 2: Exception: Index was outside the bounds of the array.
6/22/2005 6:24:39 PM - Connection accepted from <cli_ip>:3243 on local address <svr_ip>:8080, session id is 3.
When I try on port 8081 (encrypted) it all works great.
So, can a user not choose to use encryption or not (e.g. no encryption when using a VPN, and encryption at other times)???
Or is something else going on?
thanks,
Jan
server closed connection when unencrypted

If both ports are enabled in the Server Manager, then you should be able to connect to both. You don't need an encryption key for the unsecure port.
The "object reference" error message is not very helpful.
Can you connect from a client on another machine?
What if you change the unsecure port to something else, like 8888. Can you connect?
