Green inserted color in diffs is illegible

Post by Perry » Mon Jun 20, 2005 1:20 pm

I'm looking at differences in a checked out file, and the added lines are in a green, where the text is in a slightly darker green and the background in a lighter green, so I can't read the text at all.

I'm not red/green color blind, but this is illegible, because there is too little difference between text and background.

You should be able to change the colors. Look in the Diff tool under Tools->Options->File colors.

I figured that I could research how to fix it; I was reporting it because I assume it would be better if the out-of-the-box colors, on the default windows scheme, are legible. (Ie, what good are default colors if they're illegible on the most popular color scheme?)

We've had these defaults for a couple of years, and this is the first report of the default colors being illegible. What resolution and display options are you using? It would be good for us to try it with your configuration to see what you are seeing.
