Misleading or misinterpreted dir diff result

Post by alfred1520 » Tue Jun 14, 2005 3:48 pm

I have SOS 4.1 and I am having difficult reading the diff result.
I have dir1 and dir2 under root.
If I diff dir1 nothing pops up because there is no difference.
If I diff dir2 I see the file difference.
If I diff root recursively, I expect to see the differences in dir2, either no files under dir1, or files are identical under dir1.
But what I see is that files in dir1 show up as local only. This is misleading and reduces my trust of the comparison to zero.
What did I do wrong?

There are some diff bugs in SOS 4.1, sorry. We're working hard to fix these in SOS 4.1.2, due out soon.

Any ETA on the 4.1.2 release date? The show differences bug on a project is a bit of a pain at the moment.

Regards,
Isaac

We've still got some work to do in some areas before we can release 4.1.2. However, I can send you a preview with changes to the diff. Email linda at Sourcegear.com.
