How would I set the option "Check in unchanged files " to "Ask" using SOS client? I saw an earlier posting for something related and the suggested answer was to use the VSS client on the SOS server machine to set such an option. I tried that but it didn't work for me. We use SOS 4.1 and VSS 6.0d. My SSAPI.dll on the SOS server did not have the version number that would require the registry tweak as shown in one of the postings in here.
Also, is there any "Compare files by' option in SOS?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

The "Ask" option doesn't work in SOS. I used SOS 4.1 with both VSS 6.d and VSS 6.0c/Hotfix.
You can set the option in the VSS client on the SOS Server machine to Checkin for unmodified files and SOS will check in the file and increment the version. (For this to work, the option needs to be set for each user profile in VSS.)
But SOS isn't "hooked up" to whatever generates the "Ask" dialog in VSS.
SOS doesn't have a "compare by" option, since we mainly use version numbers to compare files in the local directory to files in the database. Checksums are used only to determine the the status of "Unknown" files.
