Something is really stupid (or am I doing anything wrong?
I was working with one of my projects yesterday and at one stage I had to do a "Get Latest version" on the project. I had plenty of files check-out and they had been edited, I thought no big deal, SOS collab edition worked fine, no files where ever overwritten there if they where checked out. That turned out to be a BIG mistake in VALUT, all my files where overwritten and I lost a couple of hours work (time which I didn't have as usual). What's wrong here? In my opinion, a file which is checked out should NEVER EVER be overwritten by anything. I know there is a modified local file settings (which I have set to Overwrite), but that should only affect files which has been modified but not checked out, or?
Please help, this is dangerous...
Edited and checked out files are being overwritten

Sorry there was some mis-understanding about the Vault GET settings. Overwrite does exactly what it was does in VSS. A get will overwrite your changes on disk.
Please note, unlike VSS (SOS) your file changes were not lost. All overwritten files will be stored in an _sgbak sub folder on disk. You can find your changed files in this sub folder.
Also, you might want to switch to Automatically merge in changes, as this will setting will not lose changes you've made to files.
