Server Options: "Use Reverse DNS" unchecked
Can you please explain what would happen if "Use Reverse DNS" is unchecked. Thanks.
When someone logs in, the server has an IP address. If ReverseDNS is enabled, the server does a reverse lookup to determine the host name of the machine. If ReverseDNS is disabled, the IP address is used instead.
The results from above are then cached and used when logging messages.
