Find in Files

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but as I can't find it in the forum I thought I'd ask...

I notice in the Vault Admin help that R permission allows users to "Find in Files" but I can't find that feature in the Vault Client. Am I missing something obvious or is it not there?

Use the Search tab within the Vault GUI client. Also note, Vault 2.0.x has a different search feature set than Vault 3.0.x.

Yeah, I was thinking of find in files (like find occurrences of the word 'foo' in files '*.cpp') rather than find files (which the search tab lets you do).

Oh, I'm using Vault 3.0.7 by the way.

Ah, yes. Find IN Files... The coffee is kicking in now.

This feature is scheduled for a future release of Vault. I've added your name to the list of people requesting the feature.

Could you please add my name also for this feature request? We are in the process of migrating from VSS to Vault and are really missing this feature.

Was this one ever implemented? I just downloaded the latest version update (3.1.7) and I don't see this feature. For me this is a huge difference between VSS and Vault, so it would be great if this got added. Is there a timeframe for getting this feature?

This is scheduled for Vault 4.0, due out later this year.
