Check in file indication

Post by Amir » Tue May 31, 2005 12:52 am

Hello,
When checking in a single file, and the check in dialog appear you both
- lose the visual mark on the selected file in the file list and
- the check in dialog doesn't show the file name anywhere (it just says: "Check In"

it can be quite annoying when check in more than a few files.
is there a solution to that.

thanks,
Amir

What version are you using? In SOS 4.1, the checkmark stayed put until the actual checkin. You're correct that the checkin dialog doesn't show the name(s) of the files being checked in. But when you're checking in multiple files, VSS doesn't show all the names, either.

Our Vault product has a very nice checkin dialog that shows all the files being checked in. You might want to check it out. Vault is a replacement for SOS and SourceSafe.

I'm using 4.1 on windows XP SP2.
the blue indication is lost when the dialog is open.

by the way, even when dialog is open, you can right-clisk on the the file again, and select checkin again.
after that, any operation on the second dialog will bloae SOS.
