Excluded File Types

Post by karl.swager » Wed May 11, 2005 5:24 pm

SOS v4.1 using VSS 6.0d

What is the purpose of the "Excluded File Types" tab in the Server Manager?

The extensions I entered are still being listed when I click the add files button in the SOS Window Client.

Thanks.

It's to prevent certain file extensions from being added to the SourceSafe database. This is a little buggy, though. The file still appears in the file list, but if you try to add it to the database, it fails with "Operation Failed", rather than a more useful message.

The extension needs to be configured correctly for the "add" to fail:

"exe" is correct; ".exe" or "*.exe" is not.

Are there any plans to exclude these files from file list?
