Invalid Drive error makes Vault client unusable

Post by devinr » Sun May 01, 2005 7:20 pm

I have the working directories of some Visual Studio projects stored on a USB flash drive. If I try to open up the Vault client to access some other projects whos working directories are stored on the C: drive without having the USB drive plugged in, Vault displayes an error saying it could not find part of the path F:\ (the removed USB drive).

I click OK on the error dialog, but the Vault client endlessly displays the same error dialog. I cannot even end the client gracefully. I have to kill the VaultGUI.exe process.

I also cannot add or open projects from Visual Studio. The projects are all in the same repository. I am working with Vault 3.0.6.

We'll take a look at it - it is probably a bug that needs fixed.

Thanks for the report

I've been trying to reproduce this, but have been unable to. Can you reproduce this reliably?

In any case, I wouldn't recommend setting a working folder to a temporary drive unless you do it temporarily.
