Admin Tool Won't Install on Domain Controller

Post by Tom » Mon Apr 25, 2005 7:31 am

When I try installing the Admin tool on the Domain Controller, I get the following error:

The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation.

Can you advise as to which System policy Vault needs?

Thanks

You usually see this message when there's already a Vault Admin tool installed on the server machine. The Admin Tool is often installed as part of the Vault Server installation. Could there already be an Admin Tool on that machine?

Look under Program Files->Sourcegear.

Linda:

Yes, you are correct. It was installed as part of the Server.

but now, when I try and open the Admin tool, I get this error.

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

at VaultService.VaultAdminService.Login(String strHostname, Boolean bUseFullFiles, String username, String strEncryptedPassword, String strRMKey, String& strAuthToken)
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Can you assist?
