faild connection to a VSS Database on mapped drive

Post by dragonboat » Thu Mar 24, 2005 4:26 am

Hi, everyone,
I've got a problem with my SOS 4.1 + VSS 6.0, the Database is on a mapped drive. But if I try to start the server, the server wouldn't start

("The SourceOffSite Server 4 service on Local Computer started and stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for

example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service").

The Logfile says:

Code: Select all

We don't recommend using mapped drives, since the mapping is determined by who's logged into the server machine at a particular time.

However, it could be that the account running the SOS Server service does not have access to that path.
