Make Merge Branches retrieve origin folder history in chunks

Can the merge branches wizard be made to work like the history explorer in that it only retrieves the portion of the history that the user has viewed? We currently have almost 90000 versions in our history. The first 86300+ of those are from the initial VSS import, and we only imported one tree, so the chance that we're going to be selecting any of those for merging is miniscule at best. However, the wizard retrieves all of them, making it take a lot longer than necessary to get to the point where we can select the revisions to merge.

Ouch -- 90,000 revisions? That would be painful, wouldn't it.

Good suggestion. I'm currently writing a spec for improvements to the merge branches feature, and I just added this to the list.
