RSS feed for a project

Post by Mike » Mon Jan 19, 2004 10:05 am

I have a feed for our repository but is it possible to create a feed for single project or a single solution folder that contains several projects?

Thanks!

Sorry, no.

(For those who don't know, Vault 1.2 (and up) contains an undocumented, unofficial feature which generates RSS feeds of recent checkins for a given repository. This feature is inflexible and hard to use, but some people may find it useful.)

Could you drop a hint on how this works? I can't find anything anywhere. :)

Does this work in the latest version of vault? I am demoing it right now and an RSS feed is a very attractive feature.

Yep. I just tried it on our internal Vault server, and it seems to work just fine.

Strange, the same URL that didn't work yesterday works today. Maybe I hadn't added any files when I tested yesterday, or the RSS feed doesn't include the current day?

Hi Eric,
Can you add to the todo list the ability to provide a feed for a Vault folder or is this a no go enhancement?

I ask 'cause we often have to work divide up the team around about the time when a release candidate is about ready to ship. We create a release prep codeline (grand name for a branch) and some of us work off this branch while others work on the mainline (trunk). It would so useful if the RSS feeds could be partitioned to follow the team split.

Thanks
Christian

I just added this to our list. I'm not saying everything on the list is gonna happen, but stuff on the list is more likely to happen than stuff not on the list. :-)

Thanks.

Cool.

Excellent feature - I now need to figure out how to consume the feed programatically so that I can hook up some triggers in reponse to check-ins.
