I'm about to perform one of the biggest server shake-ups in my company for a few years. Our servers are getting old and tired and the current arrangement of servers and applications causes problems. I'm using the opportunity to upgrade our Vault core from v2 to v3. However I'm currently in a little dilemma.
I have three servers, three major applications and one 'role' to designate.
The applications are Citrix, Exchange and Vault. The role is Domain Controller. The servers aren't exactly high spec - the fastest is 2Ghz, the slowest 730mhz, both single processor.
Deepdown I guess what I'm really asking is will Vault happily co-exist with Exchange server 2003?
Vault 3 installation co-existing?

Phil:
Out of the box, Exchange can get a little resource hungry. When you add a PDC, MSDE/SQL Server, IIS, and the Vault server to the mix, you'll need to make sure you do some configuration tuning to make sure each process isn't starved of the resources.
You could designate the 700 MHz machine as Citrix / PDC, and then try Exchange / Vault on the other machines. If it gets too cumbersome, you could also split Vault's requirements across different machines ( Vault Server / IIS on machine A and MSDE/SQL Server on machine B ).
You don't mention how much memory is in each machine. Just remember all of these pieces Citrix, Exchange, SQL Server / Vault will want a nice serving of memory and Fast Disk/Network IO for optimal use.
