Copy folder name from Vault Client

Post by johnrusk » Wed Jan 26, 2005 3:55 pm

Is there any way to copy the name of a folder (and/or a file) from the Vault client? E.g. if I want to send an email to a colleague that says:

"Hey Bob,

The code you need is checked in here: $\OurRepository\LongFolderPath\ThatIDontWantToReType\CoolNewStuff"

It would be nice if I could copy the folder name from within Vault and paste it into my email. Unfortunately, the name field for file and folder properties is not selectable, and so cannot be copied.

If you're using 3.0, you can click on your folder in the main GUI window, then select the Email tab at the bottom. The text box that says "Click the Add button to start monitoring changes to $/blah" is actually selectable, so you can select the path and hit Control-C or right click for the context menu.

Thanks. Hard to find, but effective.

Can I suggest making the other fields, that display the same info, selectable too in a future release...
