error when I try to log on to Vault

Post by cwiklund » Thu Jan 20, 2005 9:53 am

I got error code:
CryptoAPI cryptographic service provider (CSP) for this implementation could not be acquired.

But I have Vault Ver 3.0.1 (2769)
I try to reinstall the client, but no changes.
All other users can log on to Vault.

Help I don’t now what to do.

Here's the usual fix:

It's strange that other users can log in, but you can't, so there may be something else going on.

If the solution above doesn't work, you might try closing your Vault Client and deleting your client-side cache files.

Deleting edb3... on the server and restarting IIS did not help and deleting entire %APPDATA%\SourceGear and reinstalling the client did not help either,
We tried to install the server on another machine and got the same error when connecting to that computer.
There is probably some problem with the client computer. It does not matter which user we use from that computer it does not work.
We get the same error with the admin-client. The web-client works just fine.
Next step could be to reinstall windows on the client computer.
