Version 1.1.0.689 Installed 14 July 2003

Hello,

Ive inherited a pretty old Vault server, and am hoping to utilize it with Dreamweaver. Could you help me accomplish the following:

1) Migrate this Vault Server to a new locality (inhouse vs offsite which is the present situation)

2) Provide any necessary patches / upgrade direction required

3) Employ Dreamweaver as the IDE with Vault

Hope you can help!

This KB article has information about moving the Vault Server and database:

I'd suggest de-activating your Vault license before you start.

If you have a version prior to Vault 2.0.6, you can upgrade to 2.0.6 at no charge. Just download the Vault server from http://www.sourcegear.com/vault/downloads.html.

If you restore or re-attach your current Vault database to your new MS SQL Server, then you can just run the Vault 2.0.6 installer and it will automatically upgrade the database.

Vault 3.0 is a paid upgrade. You must have Gold Support to upgrade.

Vault does not support IDE integration with Dreamweaver. However you can do source control operations in Vault and edit files in Dreamweaver.

Thank you:)

1) If I read the information correctly, for $99 I would be able to upgrade to 3.0 with gold service?

2) Whice IDE(s) would you recommend for integration with Vault since Dreamweaver is not directly supported?

Thank you.

The cost is $99 per client license and you do get 3.0 with Gold Support.

At this time, Vault supports integration with VS.NET 2003, Visual C++ and Visual Basic 6.

You might want to review this KB article about the advantages of using the GUI Client vs the integrated client for source control operations.
