This is wierd. I just installed v3.0. (upgrading from 2.x). I have my new license key, but can't set it because I can't launch the admin tool. I am getting this message:
Unable to connect to http://vault/VaultService. No server was found at the specified URL. Please verify your network settings using the Options dialog under the Tools menu in the Vault GUI Client. Web Exception: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Access Denied.
I checked the KB, and everything seems ok (anon access allowed, etc.). There's also a few other things I verified works ok:
1) I'm using the right admin password because I can launch the client using the account. It displays everything ok and I can even check out files.
2) I can visit the VaultService web page at http://localhost/VaultService/VaultService.asmx
3) I can run the web interface using the admin login.
4) I can't run as my "normal" account because the Vault service thinks I have a "one user license"
So...I'm totally boggled...why can't I launch the Admin client tool and log in as admin?
401 Error Launching Admin client...

Check the sgvault.log file in %windir\temp\sgvault. Any helpful information?
Is there anything in the Event Viewer that corresponds to the error?
One user reported that although they had Anonymous Access enabled, the password for the anonymous account had expired.
Is Sharepoint installed? This can cause a conflict with Vault.
Let me know what you find out.
