"The parameter is incorrect" when adding files (Wi

Post by ccady » Sat Jan 08, 2005 9:54 am

I am getting a "The parameter is incorrect" error using the 4.0.2 Windows client when I try to "Add files." I also got thi error with 4.0.1. I do not have this problem if I revert to the 3.5.3 client.

The error dialog comes up, and when dismissed, the "Add files" dialog is displayed, but it is mostly empty (it has nothing in the Folders, Drives, or Files controls.)

The verbose server log is below.

We haven't had too many reports of this. The log shows a communication problem between the client and server and then a disconnect. When exactly do you get the error message. Can you send me a screen shot? Attach it here or email to linda at Sourcegear.com

Does this happen with any files or just particular files? Do other users experience the same problem? Can you do this operation from a client on another machine?

From the log, your server is SOS 4.1 and you stated you've used 4.0.2 and 4.0.1 clients. Did you mean the 4.1 client? If you haven't tried the 4.1 client, do that.

Also, are you using the Windows client or Unix client?

Try installing the client with Admini previllages and try using the SOS with the same error.

I come across with the same probs and it was showing some ascii charectors while selecting the Drive letters from the dialog box.

I can't tell from your post whether you're posting suggestions or if you are still experiencing a problem yourself. Let me know what we can help you with.
