Error Code -1001 on upgrade to 1.0.6

Post by Nidonocu » Sun Jan 13, 2008 8:27 am

Hi, I'm running Fortress Server 1.0.5 and upgrading to 1.0.6.

I get the following output from the data from the Fortress Server Configuration window during the upgrade:

Code: Select all

OK
Upgrading your Fortress configuration.
Checking for IIS Version...Connecting to the SQL Server...OK
Verifying the SQL Server requirements...OK
Requesting Fortress Admin user password...OK
Upgrading the existing source control database...
This may take a long time. Do NOT stop this process!
	Checking the installed database version...OK
Grant database access to NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE...OK
	Upgrading SourceGear master database schema...OK
Upgrading SourceGear source control database schema...OK
Upgrading SourceGear work item tracking database schema...OK
	Upgrading SourceGear master stored procedures...OK
Upgrading SourceGear source control stored procedures...Database 'sgvault' is already open and can only have one user at a time.
Fortress Upgrade Setup is exiting due to a failure or cancellation. Error Code = -1001
After pressing [OK] the install will complete and launch a Web browser where you can enter license keys. Please log in with the user name and password that you supplied during this install.
Please press OK to continue installing the Client (if selected).
I'm running Server (and client) on fully-patched Windows Vista Ultimate RTM with SQL Express Edition (most recent found with VS Express 2008), using Single user mode.

Can someone help me fix this? I'm a little unsure if its safe to use my existing version with the database upgrade left 'half way' like this.

Fixed

Based on the advice of the similar problem here, I performed an uninstall (asking to keep the database) and then installed the new version (asking to use the existing database).

All working again fine now but possibly this bug of the 'sgvault' user not being logged out needs to be looked in to for the next release!
