I have some developers that are using VSS and some that are using SOS to work on the same project. When I open my project in VS.NET using SOS, it always asks me to checkout the project file. Why does it want to check it out when I'm opening the project?
Thanks,
Frank

Older versions of VSS and SOS would write project binding information directly inside of the solution's project files, causing the problem you are having when working on a single solution with a team split between VSS and SOS. Microsoft made some changes to their integration API to fix this problem, and newer versions of VSS (6.0c and 6.0d) and SOS 4.0 support the new interface. So upgrading to the latest versions of both products should resolve the problem.
