Email Server URL mangled sub domain bug?

Post by pblaylock » Fri Aug 03, 2007 10:25 am

I have set up fortress as a root web site, and have added an entry in my hosts file pointing to fortress.mydomain.com for testing.

In the Admin...Server Settings...Email Settings, I have then added a server URL of http://fortress.mydomain.com. In the resulting change notification emails the url is coming out like ...

http:/.mydomain.com/VaultService/VaultWeb/TransactionDetails.aspx?repid=3&txid=290

Using http://www.mydomain.com as the server url works as expected, as does http://test.mydomain.com. Is there a reason you cannot or should not use fortress in the server url?

This is with Version 1.0.3.15836

Thanks

The first part of that URL only points to the server so you should be able to use fortress.mydomain.com. Do you know how far that gets in the network? By that, I mean, does it only go as far as the DNS server, or does it make it to the Fortress server and then decide it doesn't know what to do from there?

The email is being sent OK, and is arriving OK.

The bit I am refering to is the link url that is appended to the bottom of the email text below 'For more details on this transaction, go to'

It looks like there is some parsing going on that is stripping out /fortress

It looks like it is. We'll log that as something to get fixed.
