Recent Experience

Post by KevinSours » Mon Jul 16, 2007 5:37 pm

This was recently a very useful tool for a problem I had. However as always there were a few things it didn't do that would have been useful.

1) In the three way merge, it appears to want to always overright the base copy with the merged changes. It would be nice to be able to specify a seperate save file (save as was disabled when I tried it).

2) It would be nice if there were an option to allow urls rather than files names. I often want to diff webpages I'm working on and this saves me the trouble of saving them to local files first.

Thank you,
Kevin

I will enter a feature request on the items you've mentioned. Thanks for the feedback.

Also, until Save As is added as a feature, you can change the location of where the center pane is saved to if you use the command line instead. The
command line is documented in the Diff/Merge manual. The switch you need is /result:pathname.
