Working Folder same as Shadow Folder -- OK???

Question: I have recently set up some shadow folders and was wondering: is it OK for me to check out files to my shadow folders (assumption being that this is also my working folder)? Will Vault ever try to override my changes before I've had a chance to check them in?

The shadow folder should only be used for the Shadow folder service.

If the shadow folder is pre-populated, it will not update properly. It will also try to synchronize with the repository and overwrite any changes that do not come from the shadow folder service.
