HELP!Why I cannot restart the service?!
I couldn't restart the SourceOffsite4.0 service even I have installed the .NET Framework.
There are various reasons the SOS Server might not start. Check the log.txt file in the SOS Server directory for possible error messages. You can post the log here or email a copy to linda@sourcegear.com.
One of the main reasons the SOS Server doesn't start is if the VSS databases aren't configured correctly in the SOS Server Manager. Be sure to use the Browse button to browse to the location of the srcsafe.ini file.
Also, verify that the account running the SOS Server Service has access to the machine and directory where the VSS database resides. By default, the Server service uses the local System account, which usually does not have access to another machine. Sometimes the System account doesn't even have read/write access to directories on the same machine, so check for these possibilities.
