I would like to upgrade from Vault 1.2, however, I am quite concerned about the lack of side by side installation of the two server versions since I have a rather large DB in Vault 1.2.
Can anyone point to a FAQ or a post that will tell me exactly what I need to before installing 2.0 that will allow be restore the Vault 1.2 installation if I decide that I don't want to use 2.0 for whatever reason?
I am most concerned about the fact that I can't control the database that the Vault uses. Allowing me to create a new SQL DB (instead of upgrading by existing DB) during installation should be a easy thing to do. Can anyone tell me why Vault does not do this?

Randy
Upgrading to Vault 2.0 from Vault 1.2

Randy,
My recommendation in your situation is to handle the upgrade like this:
1. Back up the sgvault database.
2. Run the 2.0 server installer to upgrade your database.
If you later decide to go back to 1.2, you will need to,
1. Uninstall the 2.0 server. choosing to drop the database.
2. Install the 1.2 server.
3. Restore the backup from before. You may need to setup the database user again as outlined at http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=228
4. Any users that have been using the 2.0 server will probably need to delete their client side cache as outlined at http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=6
