Client seems stuck on "Downloading project tree..."

Post by wanderer » Tue Apr 04, 2006 3:20 pm

Hello,
I just installed the SOS server on a different computer, added the license and user info, added some databases.
When I try to connect to a project, I get the "Downloading project tree..." message; it's been there for over two hours.

How can I figure out where the problem is? An SOS client running on the server computer gets the same result.

Win2000 server, WinXP clients. A server installed on another (older, slower) Win2000 computer works as expected.

TIA for any ideas.

An SOS client running on the server computer gets the same result.
Are you connecting using "localhost" for the servername? That will bypass most network issues.

What version of SOS Server and Client are you using? What version of the VSS automation component is installed on the SOS Server machine? We specifically need the version of the ssapi.dll:

We'd like to see a copy of the SOS Server log. It's log.txt and is in the SOS Server directory. Email it to linda at SourceGear.com. Be sure to include a link to this forum posting.
