VSS 6.0c to Vault Import Using Vault Import Tool

We are struggling with an import from VSS 6.0c to Vault.

We were successful doing this with a clean Vault install where VSS and Vault were running on the same Windows Server 2003 machine, and the SQL Server back-end for Vault was on the same machine.

We are not successful doing the same import on a Windows Server 2000 SP4 machine running IIS 5.0, where the SQL Server back-end for Vault is on a remote machine. This Vault server is not a clean one, since it has been in use for quite awhile. We are assuming there are some settings getting in the way and/or the Vault web service is not behaving properly on this machine.

Please have a support tech get back to us asap. We are in a tight situation where there are many developers being held up until this issue is resolved.

Spoke with Chris on the phone. They were using a 2.x version of the Import Tool against a Vault 3.x server. He will try again using a version of the Import Tool that matches his server version. Vault 2.x clients (the Import Tool is a client) cannot connect to Vault 3.x servers.

The import is proceeding nicely now with the newer version of the Import Tool. Thank you, Linda!
