Changing right-hand menu

Is it possible to customize (or add to) the menu options on the right side? I saw that the ability to save queries is on the list for future updates, and that would be really good, but I would also like to have multiple view option links on the menu, for example certain display fields turned on for one view and other display options turned on for another view. I have the query, but the display is always the same regardless of the queried results. Right now I have to change the display options each time I want to view different data.

Currently there isn't a way for a user to add to the menus on the side.

That is a good idea. I will add that as a feature request.
