login to SOS with IP address ??

Can this be done? i got emailed this from our guys in india

We got a recommendation from Source gear that you login to SOS with IP address instead of giving the domain name.

When we enter the domain name as IP address while logging into the SOS client.

Error message is raised stating “”The client was unable to locate key file ‘c:\program files\sourceoffsite\194154015075.key’

I hope if we can make the key compatible to IP address we can log into SOS by giving the IP address.

If this can be done how would we do it?

Yes, you can log into the SOS Server with the IP address of the server machine.

However, if the encryption key was created using the SOS Server domain name, the encryption key won't work. For encryption to work, the user key must be created using the same servername that the user is logging in with.

So if you want users to use the IP address, create new encryption keys with the IP address.
