Import multiple branches

Post by sdv » Thu Jan 15, 2004 7:06 am

Importing multiple branches in one go would be appreciated.

When files are shared between $/A and $/B and I do not want to import everything from the root, then I would have to make two imports and thus lose the sharing.
(For workaround I temporarily move $/B into $/A/B, then import $/A and move B back after the import)

Yes, this would be handy. We'll add it to our feature list.

Thanks

One other option is to archive the branches out of the VSS db and restore them into a new VSS DB, then import the entire tree from the new DB. I think this restores the shares correctly (it also makes importing faster if the source VSS DB is large)
