VS.NET Add to source control null reference

I have added all my files to the repository using your GUI, then opened my solution in vs.net and chose add to source control by right clicking on a project. a help tip says "Adding solution DozingDogsSetup to source control. You are currently selecting the server location for:Solution file and items" and below that is a message box titled "SourceGear Vault" with the text "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

The Ok button just repeats the message, forever. I had to End Task in Task manager to quit VS.NET to stop it.

The same thing happens if I pick "Add selected projects to source control" from the file menu.

Next, I tried "Change source control" from the file menu. When I click Bind i get the same MessageBox appearing forever.

The only thing I've seen that works so far from VS.NET (2002) is File>Source Control>SourceGear Vault Client which does launch the client and automatically connect.

It's better to add a project to Vault from VS.NET rather than by using the GUI Client. You'd use the File->Source Control->Add to Source Control command. This ensures that the project has the proper bindings.

You didn't say what version of Vault you are using. VS.NET is not supported in Vault 3.0. It does work with Vault 2.0.6 with a special VS.NET 2002 patch.

I only purchased Vault a few days ago; but I'm using the hosted service from www.orcsweb.com. I downloaded the app from them to be compatible. The Vault Client Help/about says 2.0.0(2120).
